The Success of the Mid-Autumn Festival Meeting at School of International Education

In order to help international students understand Chinese traditional culture and customs, and to enhance the exchanges and friendship between teachers and students at home and abroad, the School of International Education at Liaoning Technical University held a meeting on September 28, where teachers and international students recited ancient poems, tasted moon cakes, and shared the Mid-Autumn Festival knowledge. The meeting was presided over by Zhang Yanan, Vice Dean of the School of International Education.

At the beginning of the discussion, Professor Sun Wei, Dean of the School of International Education, expressed his concern for the students' life and holiday wishes, and made good expectations for the students' study and dissemination of Chinese culture. Bai Yun, a student from Vietnam, speaks Chinese very well. He interpreted the poem “The sea mirrors the rising moon bright; miles apart, our hearts share tonight.”, and shared it with other international students. Paul from Russia shared his experience of learning martial arts and Weiqi in China, and also introduced Chinese tea culture to the students. Muta from Zambia is very grateful to the teachers he met in China, who gave him care in life and cultural guidance. He becomes more and more interested in Chinese culture. After the discussion, leaders and teachers came to the dormitory to visit the international students, and gave each student festival mooncakes representing happiness, friendship, wisdom, inheritance and other beautiful meanings. The international students felt the care of the college and the warmth of being in a foreign country.

Through the Mid-Autumn Festival activities, the School of International Education helps international students experience China, know China, understand China, and spread Chinese culture, effectively practicing the concept of "telling Chinese stories well and spreading Chinese voices well".
