At the invitation of Pretoria University in South Africa and PSB College in Singapore, Xing Baojun, Secretary of the Party Committee of the University, and his delegation paid a working visit to the two friendly colleges from 19 July to 26 July. Pretoria University, the administrative capital of South Africa, was founded in 1908 and became an independent university on October 10, 1930. So far, Pretoria University has become the largest university in South Africa. More than 26,000 students are currently studying in 139 departments in 11 colleges of the university, of which about 7,000 are graduate students.
During the visit to the university, Secretary Xing Baojun and his delegation visited the Colleges of Engineering, Architectural Environment and Information Science, and held talks with Anton Stroh, Vice President of the University of Pretoria, senior professors Xia Xiaohua and Dr. Ye Xianming. Secretary Xing Baojun highlighted the development of our university in terms of its history, special disciplines and specialties, academic team building, scientific and technological innovation, international exchanges and cooperation. He stressed that in the process of building first-class universities and first-class disciplines, schools must always adhere to the road of internationalization and give priority to the development of internationalization. The PSB Institute of Singapore is affiliated to the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Singapore. Its predecessor is a school affiliated to the Productivity and Standards Bureau of the Government of Singapore, which was founded in 1964. It is the Higher Education Institute of Singapore and a 100% owned institution of higher learning by the Singapore government. PSB College is one of the largest colleges in Singapore. It has more than 30 years'experience in providing higher education.
During the visit to Singapore's PSB College, Julia Zhang, Vice President of the University, held a welcoming and signing ceremony. Vice President Julia Zhang highly appraised and recognized the strength of our school. She said that Singapore's PSB College has always attached great importance to the exchanges and cooperation with Chinese universities. The two schools have their own characteristics in the field of engineering. With the opportunity of signing an inter-school exchange and cooperation agreement, the two schools will carry out in-depth cooperation in scientific research cooperation, exchanges of scientific researchers and exchange of students.
