From June 5 to 8, invited by President Liang Bing, an expert delegation from Russian Irkutsk National Technical University, headed by Professor Okhotin visited our school. On the morning of June 6, the welcoming ceremony was held in the conference room on the third floor of the International Conference Center.

President Liang Bing delivered a speech on behalf of school at the welcoming ceremony. She expressed her heartfelt thanks to the delegation of experts who had been invited to our school for in-depth discussion and substantive docking of scientific research cooperation. She hoped that the sparks of cooperation would burst out in the same direction of scientific research. Both sides would make use of their strengths and make up each other’s weaknesses by jointly declaring national or provincial projects. In this way, the scientific research level of the two universities will be pushed to a new height.

Professor Okhotin said “Liaoning Technical University is only an old close friend but also an important cooperative partner. It is hoped that the two schools will continue to strengthen personnel training, scientific research cooperation and scholar exchanges, and encourage both sides to jointly apply scholarship projects of the Chinese and Russian governments.

During the period, the expert delegation visited School of Architecture and Communications and exchanged views on highway monitoring and new materials for road construction. The two sides reached an agreement on the exchange of undergraduate internships, postgraduate cooperation, young teachers' visits to school, and hiring well-known experts from each other’s university as part-time professors.

The delegation of experts and the Faculty of School of Mining discussed the technology of groundwater detection. On the morning of the 8th, a delegation of experts visited Huludao Campus and discussed in detail with School of Safety Science and Engineering. The two sides discussed how to give full play to the advantages of talents, technology and research, to further promote cooperation and development in the field of safety technology between the two universities, and to jointly carry out the declaration and research of projects funded by the Chinese and Russian governments. Deeply explore and communicate and reach consensus in many aspects.

Irkutsk National Technical University is one of the 29 national research universities in the Russian Federation. Of Russian 1,000 universities, graduates rank 11th in employment and are one of the 16 best universities in Russia.
