On the morning of November 22, the signing ceremony of the strategic cooperation agreement between our university and the Russian Irkutsk National Technical University and the unveiling ceremony of the Sino-Russian International Institute of Geospatial Information Technology were held in the conference room on the third floor of the International Conference Center. Xing Baojun, Secretary of the Party Committee of the University, and Mikhail Korniakov, President of the Irkutsk State Technical University of Russia jointly unveiled the China-Russia International Institute of Geospatial Information Technology. Liang Bing, President of our school, signed a new strategic cooperation agreement with Mikhail Korniakov.

President Liang Bing, dean of the International Institute of Geospatial Information Technology of China and Russia, said that the cooperation between our university and the Russian Irkutsk National University of Technology has a long history and has achieved fruitful results in the fields of personnel training, scientific research and scholar exchange. The inter-school cooperation was established in September 2004. In recent years, there have been frequent bilateral cultural exchanges along with other areas of cooperation expanding and the results of the cooperation becoming increasingly remarkable. Seven batches of more than 120 undergraduates majoring in surveying and mapping have been assigned to each other for internship. Professor Anatolii Okhotin has been approved and completed the project of high-end foreign experts from the State Foreign Affairs Bureau of China. In 2016, Professor Anatolii Okhotin was appointed as "Honorary Professor" by our university and awarded "Friendship Award" by Liaoning Provincial Government in 2017. In the future, our university and the Russian Irkutsk National Technical University will take full advantages in the research and application of Surveying and mapping technology, and strive to build the "China-Russia International Institute of Geospatial Information Technology" into an international leading source of scientific research and innovation.

Mikhail Korniakov, Russian dean of the Institute and President of the Russian Irkutsk National University of Technology, said that Liaoning Technical University is the most valued partner of the Russian Irkutsk National University. It is hoped that the two schools will continue to maintain a good momentum of cooperation, continue to promote scientific research collaboration and teacher-student exchanges, jointly pursue academic excellence, and achieve mutually beneficial and win-win development between the two schools.
