At 3:30 pm, on November 4, the exchange activity of the Sino-Russian cultures week hosted  jointly by the Office of the International Exchange and Cooperation, the Mining College and the Surveying and Mapping and Geographical Science College was officially kicked off .
There were the professor Anatoly, the chairman of the international society of mine surveying, from the Irkutsk State Technical University in Russia, more than 30 people who are from the Irkutsk State Technical University and the National Geological Exploration University in Russia and the dean of college of surveying and geography science, Prof. Xu  Aigong, the dean of mining college, Prof. Zhang Hongwei, the director of office of international exchange and cooperation, Prof. Xu Ping and nearly 200 teachers and students to attend the opening ceremony of the exchange activity of the Sino-Russian cultures week.
At the opening ceremony, the professor of Irkutsk State Technical University in Russia Anatoly, the representative of National Geological Exploration University in Russia and the students of 2016 Chinese Government Scholarship Ji Ma respectively delivered speeches. They hoped that the exchange activities of Sino-Russian cultures week would become a bridge for communication with the emotion and soul of different nationalities and different countries, the channels of enhancing mutual understanding and trust, and the basis of building and developing Sino-Russian relations. They also hoped that through the activities of the Sino-Russian Cultural Exchange Week, the friendship between Chinese and Russian university would be enhanced, the quality of cultural exchanges would be improved and a higher level of exchanges and cooperation would be achieved. In his speech the office of international of exchanges and cooperation Prof. Xu Ping pointed out that it would become the solid bridge to enhance the friendship between our university and Russian university, the strong guarantee to enhance the quality of culture exchanges between the two countries and provide the larger stage to realize  the more high-level exchange and cooperation and the sustainable development between Chinese and Russian university of a series of activities of Sino-Russian cultures week.
The activities will last for one week. Chinese and Russian students will conduct various activities such as basketball competitions, cooking competitions, Chinese paper-cutting, Chinese calligraphy and painting, and national and instrumental musical performances of the two countries.
